Monthly meetings on public relations
topics:
There are approximately 10 monthly meetings that feature
guest speakers.
Special events include a student social, an annual
Christmas Party and a silent auction for a local charity.
At the
end of each monthly meeting, members are invited to make brief announcements.
Professional accreditation:
Qualified members can take the accreditation
test. Recognized by Southern Ublic relations Federation (SPRF)
and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), accredited
members are designated by the initials APR.
The Mobile
Chapter offers information and study sessions prioir to taking
the accreditation exam as well as financial assistance to interested
members.
Monthly Chapter newsletters:
The Chapter provides members with
news on upcoming monthly meetings, news and Mobile Chapter projects.
Regular
communications with members is available by e-mail, including meeting
announcements and job openings.
Quarterly State newsletters:
The
State organization provides members with information throughout
the state as well as statewide events and policies.
Professional development seminars:
Annual public relations workshop.
Each year, a statewide PRCA conference is hosted by local PRCA
chapters. Workshops feature speakers on
topics relevant to the public relations profession and networking
opportunities with pr professionals from around the state.
